Viz Pictures
an affiliate of Viz Media specializing in the distribution of Japanese live
action films have purchased the distribution rights to action adventure movie
K-20 LEGEND OF THE MASK which was shot by Shimako Sako in 2008.
The film’s premier in USA was on the June
20th at 8:15 pm on the New York Asian Film Festival
and will also be shown on the very festival on the June 30th at 1:45 pm. And
after the shows Viz Pictures and Viz Media (as the distributor) will be
releasing the DVD of the film under the name K-20: The Fiend With 20 Faces. And
the DVD will be in stores in 2010.
Another tiny but extremely interesting news:
you can buy an action figure of the Mask from K-20 on yesasia.com (yesasia.com - real action figure)
Takeshi
Kaneshiro was representing the product in Japan and is the model for the
company. He has made some video commercials for the JT and shooting for the ads
which are on the big boards and Supermarket windows in Japan these days. Both of the tea
products from JT are sugar free and no calories, which is seemingly very
important for those who would like to buy it.
The DVD and
Blu-Ray versions of ‘K-20 Legend of the Mask’ are on sales since June 24, 2009.
Both will be sold at one time. But for now they are available only in Japanese
and do not have English subtitles.
You can
already preorder the film but you should be aware of that.
