The 13th edition of
the North America’s
largest genre film festival will take
place July 9th to the 29th at ConcordiaUniversity’s Hall Theatre in Canada.
The festival will be opened by Japanese
director Takashi Miike’s ATTERMAN which is based on the popular 70’s manga.
Festival and the Hong Kong Economic Trade Office of Canada will also celebrate
the 100 year anniversary of the first Hong Kong released film showing the series
of Hong Kong action films and the Peter Chan’s
Warlords starring Jet Li, Andy Lau and Takeshi Kaneshiro will represent the
part of the Hong Kong Cinema retrospective.
The festival will award films in such
nominations:
Best Feature Film
Best First Feature
Best International Short Film
Best Quebec
Short Film
Best DIY Short Film
And also with the help of the publications Ecran
Fantastique and Stquences (long‐time partners of the festival) will give prizes for Best Fantasy Feature
and Best Asian Film.
And there will also be Public’s Choice Award (presented
to the movie that garnered to most votes during all three weeks of the festival).
