News from Cannes. Magnolia Films (magpictures.com) has picked up North American rights to "The Warlords" and is looking to give the film a platform release at year's end but also considers the thought of showing "The Warlords" on the U.S. festival.

The Magnolia Films made it possible after long negotiations with the main investor to the film creation Media Asia in Hong Kong. Magnolia has found enormous success in the VOD market so if it doesn’t get a limited theatrical run at least there will be VOD and DVD by the end of the year.

In China (late 2007) "The Warlords" gathered more than $28 000 000 of the box-office.
